ARTWORK STANDARDS

Guidelines for submitting art for all BIC Graphic USA products can be found here. All other information specific to BIC Sticky Note Adhesive Notes and Paper Products can be found on this page.

COLOR MATCHING

Adhesive notepad sheets and cube sheets are managed through CMYK Process Printing. This is 4-color process printing opposed to printing with spot colors. The BIC Sticky Note Color Wheel, showcasing the multitude of BIC Sticky Note Standard Imprint Colors, can be found below. When requesting a non-standard imprint color, an exact PMS color match cannot be guaranteed, however, we will match as closely as possible. Any time color is critical, we recommend a color proof.

Cube sides are printed with spot colors. When requesting a non-standard side imprint color, we will match to the PMS uncoated stock only.

MINIMUM LINE WEIGHTS & TYPE SIZES

Text can be as small as 6 point type. Anything smaller will not be legible. Lines must be .5 point thick .

LAYOUT and HARD COPY

Always provide a layout and a hard copy of your art so that we will know exactly where you would prefer art to be placed on your notepad or cube. Please provide a color composite for multi-color images, or simply send it in color, digitally (VECTOR ART is recommended).

PROVIDE A LAYOUT

HIGH RESOLUTION DIGITAL IMAGING

Photographs and other intricate printing jobs may require additional processing and lead time. Additional charges and artwork instructions can be found below.

COPY CHANGES

There is no extra charge for copy changes. Copy changes are available in increments of catalog minimums only.

HEAVY INK COVERAGE

There is no extra charge for heavy ink coverage or flood coats. Heavy ink coverage more than 1/8" wide in the adhesive area is not recommended.

SPECIAL PACKAGING

BIC Sticky Note adhesive notepad shrink-wrapping is available at a minimal extra charge:

Should you have additional packaging needs, such as special inserts or multi-pack shrink-wrapping of other items, please inquire and we will make arrangements to accommodate your request. Keep in mind, some special packaging requests may require additional time and may incur an additional charge.

PRODUCTION TIMES

Orders for BIC Sticky Note Adhesive Notepads and Non-Adhesive Scratch Pads will be shipped within 5-working-days after receipt of complete order information and artwork, or after proof approval. Adhesive and Non-Adhesive Cubes and Mylar Flag Booklets will be shipped within 7-working-days after receipt of complete order information and artwork, or after proof approval. Orders and production ready art must be received by 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. For other special packaging requests, please add 2 additional days to the standard production time.

PROOFS

A fax/email proof at $7(G) is available upon request for catalog quantity orders. A color paper proof at $15(G) is recommended when color matching is critical and when colors other than our standard imprint colors are used. Color paper proofs may not be an exact match to final product. A free color paper proof will be provided on each notepad order over catalog quantity. Product proofs are available on cubes at $25(G) per color and include side imprints only. A free product proof (of the side imprints only) will be provided on each cube order over catalog quantity. Please allow additional time on your order when proofing colors.

NOTEPAD ARTWORK

PRINTING ON ADHESIVE NOTEPADS AND NON-ADHESIVE SCRATCH PADS

Non-Standard Imprint Colors Notepad sheets are printed with 4-color process inks as opposed to spot color inks. Although we cannot guarantee an exact color match for PMS or Non-Standard imprint colors, please provide a color sample in order to match artwork as closely as possible. Any time color is critical, we recommend a color proof. Color paper proofs may not be an exact match to final product.

PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES

High resolution digital images are $250(G). This charge will be waived if artwork is supplied digitally in CMYK format and is properly sized to the product ordered. Although we cannot guarantee an exact color match, please provide a color sample (swatch or photograph) in order to match artwork as closely as possible. Any time color is critical, we recommend a color proof. Color paper proofs may not be an exact match to final product. Photographs and other intricate printing jobs may require additional processing and lead time.

BLEEDS

There is no extra charge for bleeds. Please make sure your artwork extends 1/8" beyond the standard notepad size on all sides that bleed.

FLOOD COATS

There is no extra charge for flood coats. You can change the paper color on one side of your BIC Sticky Note adhesive notepad or non-adhesive scratch pad by printing a flood coat. Just choose a percentage of one of our standard imprint colors from the Color Wheel. The recommended percentages are 10% to 30% depending on the color.

RULED LINES

Ruled lines, either in solid or phantom, are available at no extra charge and will be set without a bleed. Please specify which you prefer, otherwise, we will use solid lines automatically.

PHANTOM OR GHOST IMPRINTS

Text and phone numbers are not recommended as phantom imprints. Phantom or ghost imprints are available at no extra charge. 10% is usually recommended if you intend to write over the phantom imprint. As they are very light, text and phone numbers are not recommended as phantoms. Large logos that cover most of the space at the center of the pad look best.

CUBE ARTWORK

PRINTING ON CUBE SIDES

NON-STANDARD IMPRINT COLORS

Cube sides are printed as spot colors. PMS color matching (resulting in a spot color) is available for $32(F) per color. Please submit Pantone Matching System (PMS) number. We will match to the PMS uncoated stock.

PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES

Photographic images printed on cube sides are available for an additional charge and must be reviewed by the factory on an individual case by case basis. Please contact your promotional products representative to quote additional charges. Art should be supplied digitally in CMYK format and properly sized to the product ordered. Although we cannot guarantee an exact color match, please provide a color sample any time color is critical. Photographic images and other intricate printing jobs, such as wrap-around designs, may require additional processing and lead time. These orders will automatically receive a product proof at no charge.

BLEEDS

There is no extra charge for bleeds on cube sides. Bleeds may require additional processing and lead time.

PRINTING ON CUBE SHEETS

NON-STANDARD IMPRINT COLORS

Non-Standard Imprint Colors Cube sheets (just like notepad sheets) are printed with 4-color process inks as opposed to spot color inks. Although we cannot guarantee an exact color match for PMS or Non-Standard imprint colors, please provide a color sample in order to match artwork as closely as possible. Any time color is critical, we recommend a color proof. Color paper proofs may not be an exact match to final product. Bleeds are not available on cube sheets.

PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES High resolution digital images on cube sheets (just like notepad sheets) are $250(G). This charge will be waived when your art is supplied as a digital file with colors in CMYK format and when properly sized to the product ordered. Although we cannot guarantee an exact color match, please provide a color sample (swatch or photograph) in order to match artwork as closely as possible. Photographs and other intricate printing jobs may require additional processing and lead time.

DRILLED PEN HOLES Drilled pen holes are available to hold your favorite BIC pen for $.45(G) per cube. Drilled pen holes will be located in the upper left-hand corner of the cube on the glue/adhesive side. The approximate depth is 1". Please specify 3/8" (ideal for BIC Clic Stic or BIC Round Stic pens) or 1/2" (ideal for BIC WideBody pens without a grip or BIC Tri-Stic pens without a grip). Writing instruments sold separately.

COLOR WHEEL

Notepad sheets and cube sheets are printed with 4-color process inks as opposed to spot color inks. Non-standard colors referenced as a Pantone Color will be converted to the closest possible CMYK 4-color process match. Artwork should be submitted digitally in CMYK format. Any time color is critical, we recommend a color proof. Color paper proofs may not be an exact match to final product. Make your imprint colorful with a multitude of standard imprint colors for your BIC Sticky Note Adhesive Notepad and Non-Adhesive Scratch Pad! When referencing a standard imprint color on your order, please specify BIC Sticky Note Color Wheel, the color name and the color percentage. For example, when requesting Color Wheel Magenta at 100%, simply reference: BIC Sticky Note Color Wheel Magenta, 100%. It's that easy!

*Royal Blue is as close to Reflex Blue as we can print on notepad and cube sheets

CUBE STANDARD SIDE IMPRINT COLORS

Cube sides are printed with spot color inks. An array of cube side imprint colors have been developed to closely match the standard sheet imprint colors on the BIC Sticky NoteTM Color Wheel. All colors shown are close representations, however, colors may vary slightly due to the catalog printing process.
